Organoid
-O R G A N O I D-
Have you ever fantasized with the idea to have a chocolate house? Or to have a wall out of seeds, herbs, spices, moss or even fruits? There are no limits for a customer imaginative wishes, for instance a perfume manufacturer require panels with jasmine scent for the showcases of their worldwide shops, a luxury hotel in Tirol needs specially arranged surfaces from the surrounding blossoms and grasses or a bakery chain is interested in decorative panels coated with spelt husks. It might seem like an utopia, right?
During 2012, after three years of intensive research and development, Martin Jehart and Christoph Egger founded the german company of ORGANOID, which means a composition of “organic” (natural, in natural condition) and “-oid” for resembling. The combination ORGANOID TECHNOLOGIES indicates the several possibilities of their technology platform.
At the beginning the results were already achieved in furniture constructions such as IOYO seating furniture, small series such as MAIA trays and 3D acoustic insulations. Given to their innovation their patented technology has been worldwide represented on many fairs and congresses, receiving positive positive feedback which reflects in a large number of awards.
Located in the Alps, one of their particular characteristics is that they only use natural and authentic raw materials that are handcrafted piece by piece. As well, paying attention to ecological and sustainable manufacturing using a 100% of green electricity, using biological binders that are free of biocides, plasticizers and solvents. Through this way they reach a particular scent and natural haptics. Currently they have 10 employees working in a 1,200m², at their headquarters in the West of the Tyrol.
Process
The organoid surfaces can be arranged and individually executed from any desired natural base material, the raw materials can be plants from a construction site or byproducts from their own production, as well they can be supplied by the customer.
The organoid surface is dried.
The organoid surface is ground.
The organoid surface is screened and pressed as a mixture.
Presently, they have around 500 different available materials using as a base flowers, blossoms, herbs, spices, moss, lichen, timber, bark , leaves, seeds, husks, grain, fruits, teas, fibers and grass. Moreover, the products have the standard flame-resistant HPL, in order that the entire construction is flame resistant.
Within their products, they divided into 4 types, such as: decorative coatings, acoustic panels, backings and vision.

The above image shows the three types of acoustic panels that Organoid provides, such as: slot absorber, absorber panel and picture absorber.
Slot absorber
This acoustic panel absorb sound according to the Helmholtz principle. Depending on the perforation and the slotting of the carrier material, deriving that any acoustical effectiveness can be done with the corresponding damping.
In order to not have any visible horizontal joints, the tongue-and-groove connection system allows a continuous connection system. As well, according to EN ISO 354, depending on the distance from the wall and the selected acoustic treatment, Organoid slot absorbers reach the sound absorber class A.
Absorber panel
If you are looking for a product that requires fire protection suitability, the Organoid absorber panels offer a combination of acoustic and flame-resistant wood material carrier B-s1, d 0 (EN 13501-1), which creates an absorber solution with a versatile application.
They provide a “not-visible” perforation of the carrier material and thus maintains the optics of an uninterrupted natural coating.
Picture absorber
This product besides offering a natural scenting surface, as well, provides an invisible perforation and sheepwool acoustic dumping.
The “folding technique” connects the visible surface and the edge without interruption. They are available in 3 standard size, as well they can make special formats on requests.

If you are looking for hardly inflammable backing, depending on the application organoid provides different backings that can be processed regarding thickness and pressure resistance, flexibility and transparency, thickness of coating and mechanical characteristics such as:
Recycled laminates
Textiles (e.g. jute, linnen)
Derived timber products
Metals
Foils (also adhesive-backed foils)
Fleeces
Leather or recycle leather
Papers and cardboards
Mineral wool
Synthetics

Taiwan’s Organoid distributor: Panasia, website: pamaterial.com
The Taiwanese Panasia, besides providing the organoid products, as well they are offering a full natural moss covered with a medium density fiberboard. It is just for indoor use. On recent studies, Japan have been pointed out to have a “breathable moss” which helps to purify the air if cigarette smoke, improving the air quality, as well removing indoor air of harmful substances such as Ammonia, Acetaldehyde and Acetic Acid. Moreover, without soil and irrigation, water and nutrients can be absorbed by the surrounding air providing a long, free-maintenance care product. It is not recommended to use it in dry areas with direct contact with water or gas such as bathrooms or kitchens.
Size: 300x300mm / 600 * 600mm, thickness of 5-7 cm (MDF thickness 10mm) 6 colors
Size: 400x600mm, thickness of 3 cm, can be used for large-area wall seamless installation (iron pieces fixed combination)
